Once upon a time in a tiny, old apartment in 2007, a felt bird was born.
He had black button eyes, floral fabric wings and could fit in the palm of your hand.
He got compliments and others wanted one like him.
He flew above his makers computer desk while she searched how to sell her new creations.
She found a growing community in handmade products and she fell in love.
Fast forward two years later after college; the girl and her creative soulmate, partner in crime, awesome husband returned to their hometown of Enid, Oklahoma to pursue their creative endeavors.
Upon their return they fell in love with Enid's historic downtown and dreamt of opening their own shop in one of the beautiful buildings. After months of daydreaming and planning they decided to take that leap and make their dream a reality.
They wanted to create a cool gift and accessories shop. And of course, some of the products had to be handmade!
"What should we name it"?
After much thought and brainstorming it seemed obvious, "the felt bird". that's where it all started.
The Felt Bird opened its doors in September 2009 and carries eclectic gifts, well crafted handmade items and awesome housewares. The Felt Bird is also Enid's exclusive TOMS shoes retailer.
